André & Michel Quenard Old Vines Chignin 2014

André & Michel Quenard Old Vines Chignin 2014

In the alpine hamlet of Torméry, the Quenard family features local varietals using increasingly natural production processes. Consequently, they describe themselves as “harvesters in the vineyard, not magicians in the cellar.” After tasting the wine on location in January of 2017, we’re so excited to share it with you!

Tasting Notes: The beautiful bouquet leads into white peach, white raspberry, pineapple, almond, and the slightest drizzle honey. With soft texture, the palate delivers a crisp, clean limestone minerality on the finish.

Pairings: Brie, Manchego, and other soft and semi-soft cheeses, foie gras.

Varietal: hand-harvested Jacquère
Soil Type: stony with limestone scree
Fermentation: whole-grape fermentation; 12 to 15 day maceration
Aging: oak for 1 year
Special Notes: unfined & unfiltered
