Bodegas Ponce Manchuela Reto 2016

Bodegas Ponce Manchuela Reto 2016

Though experts have conducted numerous genetic tests, Albillo is an obscure varietal whose identity continues to be debated today. One thing we know for sure: certain clones are genetic parents to Tempranillo, and this oft unassuming white grape is one of few permitted to be blended with reds.

Tasting Notes: Day-old lemon, honeydew, and a touch of cider shine through a great balance of minerality and acidity in this full-bodied white.

Pairings: Crab cakes, Asian spring rolls, lobster rolls.

Varietal: hand-harvested Albillo
Soil Type: calcareous soil
Fermentation: neutral French oak fermentation
Aging: 8 months in neutral oak
Special Notes: unfined and unfiltered
