Mark Ryan Winery Viognier 2015

Mark Ryan Winery Viognier 2015

Viognier is one of the hardest grapes to grow due to its fickle and finicky
temperament, but after the Rhône rangers in the US popularized the style,
it’s popped up in more and more places. This particular bottling comes
from a boutique winemaker who produces a mere 670 cases of it per year.

Tasting Notes: An elegant, full-bodied white with notes of citrus pith,
rosewater, lychee, pineapple, and vanilla. Yum!

Pairings: Moroccan-spiced turkey, tagine, seafood.

Varietal: Viognier
Soil Types: sand, silt, gravel, volcanic ash
Fermentation: malolactic fermentation in oak
Aging: 7 months in new and old French oak, stainless steel & concrete
