Malvasia is a ubiquitous grape of Eastern Europe, yet each region treats it differently to showcase their unique terroir. In the stunning hills of western Slovenia, the Štekar family produces their take on the Baltic classic with organic grapes that grow next to their 22-acre cherry orchard.

Tasting Notes: Slight oxidation tickles the nose with hints of cider, cinnamon-baked apples, and poached pears. The palate gives way to honey, straw, orange blossoms, and apple sauce with just a hint of tannin.

Pairings: Pork, Brie, and other soft cheeses.

Varietal: hand-harvested Malvasia
Soil Type: marl (limestone-rich clay)
Fermentation: 24 hour maceration; spontaneous fermentation in used acacia
Aging: 9 months in used acacia
Special Notes: unfiltered
