A pioneer of the California winescape, Paul Hobbs is best known for inserting traditional techniques into new and exciting frontiers of winemaking. In this project, he cultivates Areni Noir, a native Armenian grape that’s possibly one of the oldest varietals in the world!

Tasting Notes: Warm, sourdough yeast mixes with blackberries and funk on the nose, while something familiar greets you on the palate: rich, extracted fruit accompanied by firm tannins and a long finish. Serve partly chilled.

Pairings: Steak au poivre, rack of lamb, eggplant tagine.
